November Holiday 2025

Testimonial

RunScape Adventures exceeded every expectation I had for a trail running holiday. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by an incredibly friendly and professional team who made everything so seamless and enjoyable.

The runs were breathtaking. A real mixture of stunning trails through the Algarve’s rugged coastline, rolling hills, and lush forests. Each route was perfectly planned to challenge and inspire, and the run leaders were fantastic, offering encouragement and tips. All the routes were suitable for any pace or ability and were adapted to suit. Some days I really challenged myself and other days I took it easy 😊 but every day was fantastic!

Day 1

Whether you fly into Faro airport or arrive by bus or train to Lagos, we will collect you and ensure you arrive safely at our fabulous accommodation. Check-in is from 4pm.

Lagos is one of the most popular towns in the Algarve. The unique combination of a perfect location, picturesque beaches, history and a relaxed vibe make it stand out from other destinations in the Algarve.

Our 5km shake-out run will leave you in awe of the incredible coastline just a short distance away with stunning rock formations and crystal clear waters.

There will then be time to relax with dinner and drinks and watch the amazing sunset.

Day 2

Fabulous 10K coastal run from the beautiful town of Luz to the charming village of Burgau.

Here, cobblestone paths spiral downward, leading to a hidden seaside village. Unlike the larger, more commercialised Algarve towns, Burgau has retained its small-town charm with just a handful of family-run restaurants, white-washed fishermen’s cottages, and a golden beach framed by rugged cliffs.

Grab an ice cream when you’re back and there’s an optional 5km run back to base if you fancy going a bit longer!

Plenty of time left in the afternoon to stretch those muscles out with a walk to the beach and a gentle swim in the calm, clear water.

Day 3

We head inland to the tranquil woodland trails of the Algarve’s finest National Park.

The “Mata Nacional” is a forest area that covers several thousand hectares. It is an original Iberian forest at it’s finest with pines, acacia, eucalyptus trees and oaks

The trails here are incredibly peaceful and you’ll feel an enormous sense of calm and well-being.

Choose any combination of distances from 5 miles up to a Half Marathon.

Finish with some stretching and then we’re off to explore the historic old town of Lagos, with it’s welcoming atmosphere and relaxed vibe.

Day 4

Now, we shouldn’t have favourites but the rugged West Coast of the Algarve is just spectacular!

With it’s dramatic cliffs, white-sand beaches and numerous surf beaches, this promises to be a highlight of your trip!

Follow the coastal trail on this fully supported point-point adventure.

The scenery is breath-taking at every turn, from the beautiful beaches to the cliff-top views. Choice of distances from 4 miles to 13.

Day 5

Today, we split into 2 groups as we have the option of a Kayak Tour. Half the group run on the famous 7 Hanging Valley’s Coastal Trail, whilst half the group Kayak and then we switch. 5K -10K run options.

This stretch of coastline is characterised by tall cliffs, idyllic bays, sandbar islands, hidden caves and grottoes, and oddly-shaped rock formations.

Explore the famous caves along the coastline with this spectacular guided tour. Many are only accessible by sea and the best close-up views of the more spectacular rocks are from the water.

In the evening we venture to the most South-Westerly point of Europe, Cape St. Vincent to watch the incredible sunset.

Day 6

Monchique Mountain Day!

Surrounded by eucalyptus forests and mountain trails, Monchique is a peaceful alternative to the Algarve’s coastal hotspots.

The vegetation here is quite diverse, you can find pine trees, cork oaks, orange trees, eucalyptus and chestnut trees, as well as many flowers and shrubs, rosemary, heath, oleander, arbutus and rock roses.

You’ll start your run in the quaint, colourful town of Monchique and take the challenge of a 5-mile route to the top!

You’ll be rewarded with incredible views, and even a cafe!

We then drive the short distance to the famous Alferce boardwalks to stretch the legs out across this spectacular valley.

Day 7

Alvor Boardwalk intervals.

Alvor is a quaint little town on the coast, which has a series of elevated boardwalks through it’s coastal estuary.

Challenge your pace with 1km intervals of between 3 and 5 reps.

Alvor has a traditional Portuguese feel to it and with it’s white-washed cottages, cobbled streets and fishing boats along the estuary, it’s a perfect place to explore before heading back for dinner.

Day 8

Departure day.

Final chance to say your goodbyes and reflect on an amazing week. We will make sure you get to Faro Airport or Lagos Station safely. Last transfer leaves at checkout time, 11am.

The running part!

We run every day, (though every session is optional), mixing up the locations and making the runs varied and fun!

Along the south coast, we follow the famous 7 Hanging Valleys Trail, peering down into the famous caves below that you pass along the way. The geology of the region really is fascinating! From Lagos there are numerous trails, taking in picturesque towns and villages such as Luz and Burgau.

Then we have the wilder, rugged and spectacularly beautiful Atlantic West Coast. This little-explored area is a highlight of the week!

We don’t forget the inland areas either, from the highest point in the Algarve, Monchique to the tranquil Woodland Trails, we’ve done the ground work to take you to the very best places!
