Run and hike
The Fisherman's Trail
Portugal
9th - 16th October 2027
The Fisherman’s trail is an iconic long-distance path spanning 75km along the spectacular southwest coast of Portugal.
We run and hike from the charming village of Porto Covo, heading south to the scenic mouth of the Odeceixe River over 4 days. The trail passes sheer Atlantic cliffs, ancient dunes, and traditional whitewashed villages. This incredible, unspoiled area provides some of the most stunning coastal paths in Europe.
With a night either side of our coastal journey in lisbon, plus a stay in Sines, a unique coastal town with panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean, this promises to be an epic adventure!
October is the perfect time of year to hit the trail! The summer crowds have gone but the temperature still averages a perfect 23 degrees. As with all our RunScape Adventutes, all abilities are welcome!
If you are a solo traveller then rest-assured you will meet an awesome group of like-minded people who will make you feel incredibly welcome!
Only a £150 deposit secures your place!

Testimonial
RunScape Adventures exceeded every expectation I had for a trail running holiday. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by an incredibly friendly and professional team who made everything so seamless and enjoyable.
The runs were breathtaking. Each route was perfectly planned to challenge and inspire, and the run leaders were fantastic, offering encouragement and tips. All the routes were suitable for any pace or ability and were adapted to suit. Some days I really challenged myself and other days I took it easy 😊 but every day was fantastic!

The running part!
We have a fantastic ratio of 1 run leader to every 6 runners, allowing us to cater for all abilities including run/walk.
To prepare for this holiday, you need to be able to cope with 3-5 hours per day of time on feet. Being able to run/walk a half marathon on 2 consecutive days will give you a good indication of the level of fitness you will need.
RunScape holidays are not about completing the run as quickly as possible, they are about taking in the surroundings, exploring the diverse landscape and appreciating the beauty of nature all around.
catering
After all that running, the promise of delicious food awaits!
We provide breakfast for you every day during your holiday. Lunches can be purchased from a local store or we will stop at one of the lovely cafes en-route.
In the evenings, there is the chance to sample the local cuisine in one of the many fantastic restaurants. We provide dinner on 4 nights; day 1, 2, 4 and 6. The other nights, runners commonly set out in small groups and find a restuarant to their preference.

Transport
Mid morning or early afternoon is normally best. We understand this may not always be possible. We provide transfers throughout the day but if you are thinking of booking an unusual flight time please check this with us before booking.
Training
No, it’s your holiday! Every session is optional and in some cases we recommend not attending them all. The schedule is an ‘example’ only and we get a good idea of abilities early in the week. We keep a close eye on everyone and push those that need a push and rest up those that need a bit of recovery.
